About & FAQ
A percentage expresses a number as a fraction of 100. For example, if 25 out of 100 cars are white, that's 25%. The symbol "%" makes proportional comparisons fast and intuitive.
Divide the part by the whole, then multiply by 100. If 20 of your 50 apples are red: 20 ÷ 50 = 0.4, then × 100 = 40%.
Percentages appear everywhere — discounts, taxes, stock changes, economic indicators. A solid grasp of how they work helps you make sharper decisions in finance, business, and everyday life.
